There is a LOT of primary events going on in New York right now. And I mean a lot, a lot. That kind of a lot, where I will need Hermione Granger’s time-turner to even have enough time to make a list.
Some of them are official, but the vast majority are events hosted by volunteers and supporters. Luckily, both the Sanders campaign (here) and the Clinton campaign (here) post all these events on their official websites, so go ahead and browse around.
In the meanwhile, I have made a list of my 5 Favorite #NYPrimary Fan-Events Over the Weekend. The list is by no means complete, but I couldn’t resist sharing some of these jewels with you.
(Neither the Trump, Cruz nor Kasich campaign post events by supporters on their websites, which is why I only choose Democratic events.)
Homemade Cookies for Hillary
This is by far the most adorable fundraiser I have ever seen. Instead of paying a couple of hundred dollars, tickets are only $25 (includes cookies and tea) or $50 (includes a home cooked meal). To keep it small, only 15 people (and a cat) are allowed to come to the Ditmas Park for Hillary Fundraiser.

A New York Proxy Debate
Ok, so this isn’t really a fan-made event, but exciting nonetheless. Radio host Brian Lehrer is moderating “Hillary Clinton vs. Bernie Sanders – A New York Proxy Debate.” Each candidate is represented by a team of three surrogates who will spar in preparation of the real debate next week.

Young Hillary supporters are fed up with the notion that everybody under 30 automatically loves Sanders, so they are hosting a night out at Union Hall in Park Slope. “Trade campaign stories, share organizing tips in advance of the New York primary, and meet your neighbors while enjoying a drink or a game of bocce.”

Bernie Dance Party
A wide array of pro-Bernie groups are hosting a #BerninUpNYC dance party up in Bushwick. Go and feel the Bern. Or as it says in the announcement: “Get your swag. Dress up in your best Bernie gear (costumes encouraged!) Come show your love and support!”
