In honor of Halloween, these volunteers dressed up as super women during their phone banking shift in the Clinton headquarters in Brooklyn.

Meet the Libertarian Senate Candidate for New York

With two weeks to go, this might come as a shock to some of you – but the Trump-Clinton showdown is actually not the only New York election happening on November 8.

There is also a Senate seat in play. To be fair, Chuck Schemer seems to be safe (and might even secure the post of Speaker, if the Democrats take back the Senate), but there are still people challenging him.

Alex Merced, for example, a 30 year old Libertarian who has big plans for the future. First and foremost, he wants to be famous.

Read all about him in this Lady Liberty Votes feature published on Medium.

Events: Last and Final Round of Debate Watch Parties

With 20 days to go until America votes, it’s time for the third and final presidential debate between Republican nominee, Donald Trump, and – to go with SNL – probable president, Hillary Clinton.

If watching by yourself feels too scary, here is a list of places to watch it in a larger group in New York.

NYC Political Forum Debate Watch Party

“We have arrived at Act Three — the final debate with less than three weeks left to go before the Elections.  With the hopes of a viable Third Party challenge fading quickly, this bitterly-fought contest enters into its final leg between the two most unfavorable candidates in the recent polling history.”

“Meanwhile, the polls have drifted further apart, as the once-dead heat race has now turned into a possible electoral landslide for Team Clinton.”

After their big success doing the Democratic primaries, Theater in Asylum is now creating theatrical adaptations of the general election match-ups.

To beginn, they are watching each debate to analyze its content. Later on, they will devise an original piece around it, and present it live.

“With mimicry, abstraction, and earnest curiosity, we seek to illuminate the candidates, their policies, and their characters.”

If you want to get some energy out of your system BEFORE watching the debate, join a “Pussy Power” protest outside of Trump Tower, where Donald Trump lives.

“Let’s protest the pussy-grabber at his place of residence right before the next presidential debate. Bring t-shirts, posters, and all your friends.”

Orange is My Favorite Color

I was writing about yesterday’s crazy debate all day for work (including this failed attempt to have the four women accusing the Clintons sit in the Trump family box), so my brain doesn’t do hard news politics anymore for today.

Instead, I am just gonna share this pic I took at the Trump Tower Starbucks yesterday. And yes, I know that Starbucks writes the same comic in all their coffee stores, but I did find it added an extra layer of fun giving that orange-tanned Trump lives in the same building.

Live-Tweeting the Debate – Round 2

It’s 30 days until election day – or as other countries call it, maybe it’s time to start campaigning.

It’s also round two of the presidential debates – this time as a town hall-style event in St. Louis. Follow Lady Liberty Votes as I live-tweet the debate.

NYT-Timeline of GOP Bigwigs Un-Endorsing Trump

During the summer, the New York Times created an awesome multimedia timeline of Republican leaders denouncing their support for presidential candidate Donald Trump.

It not only lists who doesn’t support Trump (or might even vote for Clinton), but contrasts it with statements by Trump himself, to show what exactly provoked their un-endorsement.

They now extended the timeline and added all the 40+ people who have walked in the last two days.
