Creative Protest: A Hut Shaped Like Trump’s Hair

Wandering around New York City, you are prone to stumble across a Donald Trump protest these days. There is the Donald dino who lets you beat him, there are homeless men asking for $1 or they will vote Trump – and now there is the Trump Hut.

I saw the “luxury protesting hut in the shape of Donald Trump’s hair” outside the Trump Hotel on Columbus Circle, a favorite spot for protestors.

The hut was made by a Mexican artist and consists of 96 hula skirts  – which most closely resembles the texture of the GOP nominee’s hair. Despite looking like Donald Trump, the hut is actually quiet comfortable and can house up to two people.

Positioned just outside the over the top Trump Hotel, the hut was meant to show income disparity. Another interpretation is the dystopian future all of us will be living in, if Trump becomes president.

If you are interested in supporting this prime real estate project, the group behind it has started a Kickstarter campaign, where you can buy shares.

It might not protect you if Donald Trump becomes commander in chief, but it sure as hell looks like a nuclear fallout shelter.

Is Trump Building a New White House?

Like I mentioned, I am interning in Washington right now, and while I was walking down Pennsylvania Avenue the other day, I came across this:

1600 Pennsylvania Ave might be the most famous address in the country. Home to the White House, it has endured a long history of presidents and first families, all the way to the Obamas.

Following this year’s elections the famous building will either – for the first time ever- see an old inhabitant again (Clinton) or welcome real estate mogul Donald Trump.

For Trump the building itself might be a disappointment, after all his current domicile is made of gold and marble and modeled after Versailles.

Maybe that’s why Trump is busy building a new castle-like hotel that is set to open this year – albeit on 1100 Pennsylvania Ave and not on 1600. Who knows maybe he wants to replace the White House and establish a new presidential home? I wouldn’t be the first controversial idea he has ever had.
